Perspective City Under Attack
Students created 1-point perspective cities. They also created creature designs for monsters that are attacking their perspective cities. This assignment combined their concept development - creature design skills, with their 1-point perspective skills.

City Lights
Students learned how to draw in one and two point perspective. They then used their perspective skills to create a city in one point perspective. They were asked to create either a utopian or dystopian society.
Isometric

Students learned about Isometric Perspective and created their own themed rooms! Isometric perspective differs from 1 and 2 point perspective because there is no distortion or vanishing point!
Creature
Creation
Students combined different animals, studied their anatomy, and used their imagination to draw and develop amazing creature designs! They learned about the process that visual development artists use when inventing creatures and follow that process while working!
Spooky Book Covers
Students learned about illustration and typography by creating book covers for spooky Steven King novels. The also considered how color palettes can impact mood and aesthetic and what draws a potential buyer in.
Character Design
A character turnaround is a visual reference that shows a character from at least three angles. Turnarounds are essential for mediums that will be showing characters in the round, such as animation and comics. Artists use turnarounds to remind themselves to keep their character consistent and proportional, to pitch characters for projects, and as guides for teams where many people will be drawing the character and need to stay consistent! Students created their own characters using questionnaires. They created many sketches and finally picked the best designs for their turnaround!
Pattern / Surface Design
Surface pattern design is artwork that is created specifically to be applied as surface decoration. This could include patterns, illustrations, hand-lettering, and artwork in all sorts of styles, as long as they're made to enhance the appearance or functionality of a product.
The applications for surface pattern designs are endless. Students created their own patterns for an assignment using pictures they found online, and drawings they created on the Wacom One Tablets. They also made templates showing what the patterns would look like on various products!
Watercolor
Food
Student drew and painted detailed and realistic foods,. Their goal was to capture details by making textures and creating shading using highlights and shadows.
Perspective Bedroom
Students create their dream bedrooms. The drew these rooms using 1 -point perspective. This assignment was part of the perspective unit!
Animation Walking
Students learned how to created simple stop motion walking animations in photoshop. They created a character and then made it walk using the timeline feature!
Custom Board Games
Students created their own custom versions of classic board games, such as, Candy Land, Monopoly, and more!
